Reproductive studies in animals, showed that doxorubicin was teratogenic and embryotoxic (see Pharmacology: Toxicology: Preclinical safety data under Actions).
Doxorubicin is secreted into breast milk. Doxorubicin should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding (see Contraindications).
Doxorubicin is excreted in breast milk. Usage during lactation is therefore not recommended.
